PTSA's are individual to each school site, directly contributing to engagement, supplemental supplies and program support at their site. They work together with some of these programs, other valuable parent groups and non-profits to provide all opportunities for our students.

English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)

A committee for parents of English language learners to provide guidance and advice to the principal/staff with regards to the needs of students who are learning English as a second language.

JAMS Science Magnet

The Santa Monica Science Magnet is where adventure, learning, and fun come together to give your child a head start in areas like chemistry, physics, health, and the environment. 
More than just classwork -- the Science Magnet includes a week long Summer institute, seminars, and family participation trips to places like Morro Bay and Joshua Tree. 
 

JAMS Theater

A comprehensive after-school middle school theatre program, JAMS-SMASH Theatre Company was designed to teach JAMS and SMASH students the basics of theatre performance and production, including workshops in acting, improvisation, singing, movement, costuming, set/lighting, sound design, and much more.

As a culturally diverse community of the African Diaspora, BAAPAC exists to empower the lives of all Black/African-American students, families, and community members by providing the knowledge and skills necessary to advocate for a high-quality educational experience. Acting as a conduit of information between Black/African-American families, students, educators, school administrators, and the Board of Education. Supporting unique, culturally competent, educational models that recreate and reimagine academic and social-emotional learning for all Black/African-American students as global citizens in SMMUSD.

  • Targeted Mindfulness Work for all grades: Implement mindfulness programs to support the mental health and well-being of our middle school students, alongside staff development to ensure these practices benefit the entire student body.

  • Partnership with Digital Dragon to Enhance Our Engineering Pathway: Provide students with cutting-edge skills in game design and coding, preparing them for future careers in technology and engineering.

  • Enrichment Clubs: Offer a variety of clubs that promote creativity and collaboration, enriching our students’ educational experience beyond the classroom.​
